Everyone has a preference when it comes to oatmeal. Some like it al dente with extra milk, some like it on the plain side, and other are quick cookers of dry instant oats in the microwave.
One thing we love about slow cooker oatmeal is it’s the perfect breakfast to make the night before when you have company; there’s also little clean up or work involved in cooking this delightful breakfast dish.
You owe it to yourself this winter to cuddle up with your favorite cozy blanket and enjoy a warm bowl of this Apple Pie Oatmeal!
Slow Cooker Apple Pie Oatmeal Recipe
The warm taste of apple pie slowly cooked into creamy oats.
- 1 Apple (large)
- 2 cups Old Fashioned Oats
- 2 1/2 cups Half & Half
- 2/3 cup Apple Sauce (unsweetened)
- 3 tbsp Nuts or Raisins
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp Orange Zest
- 1 tbsp Cinnamon
- Sea Salt (to taste)
- 3 tbsp Apple Cinnamon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup
- Clean, peel, and chop apple into small pieces.
- Spray slow cooker with cooking spray.
- Mix all ingredients except syrup in cooker.
Apple Cinnamon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup
100% pure maple syrup aged in small batch apple cinnamon whiskey barrels for up to 18 months!
Cover and cook for 2-3 hours on low or until liquid has absorbed with soft apples.
Before serving, stir in cinnamon apple maple syrup.
Preferred apples for this recipe are braeburn, granny smith, jonagold, or honeycrisp.
Caramel apple, chai tea, or bourbon maple syrup can be used instead of apple cinnamon maple syrup.
If using the keep warm setting on slow cooker, add more half & half as needed to keep moist and do not keep warm for more than 2 extra hours.
